“And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him.
17 In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgement [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.” (1 John 4:16-17)
As believers in Jesus Christ we can have Christ living in our hearts yet live in bondage. We can confess Jesus Christ as our lord and saviour, go to church, do all the nice religious things and yet, the Presence of the Lord is not rubbed on us. Going to church yet, living in a cycle of defeats, and be a subject of whatever comes along our paths.
Therefore, it shows that, it’s not enough just to have Jesus Christ living in our hearts. That, if we want His power operating in our lives we must LIVE in Him.
The Word of God says as Christ is, so are we in this present world.
Is Jesus Christ subjected to economic recession, famine, diseases, depression or any evil presence? No, He is not a subject of any! Jesus Christ does not live under the dominion, control or any influences of this world system whether good or bad. And so, why should we allow the influences and the dictates of this world system to decide for us?
Jesus made it clear to us that we may be in this world, but we are not of this world. (John 17:16). We are set apart, sanctified unto God. Christ has separated us from , doom and gloom, failing economic system, plagues and pestilences or any evil! No matter our geographical location in the world, we don’t have to beg to eat, or have any needs met! (Psalm 37:18-19); (Psalm 37:25).
Jesus Christ has redeemed us with a costly price. His own Precious Blood. With His Blood He has cut us off, from every curse of the law: fear, diseases, lack, debt and every evil present in this world. And Jesus has already presented us God through His prayer, “I do not ask that You will take them out of the world, but that You will keep and protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world (worldly, belonging to the world), [just] as I am not of the world.” (John 17:15-16)
Jesus has set us apart from the world to Himself, And this where we are suppose to live in the secret place of the Almighty. (Psalm 91) From this place, we are like the description in Psalm 1, thriving supernaturally, because we are living in His presence.
So, How do we live like Christ is, in this present world? It’s by obedience to His Word.
Jesus said it, “If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commandments and live on in His love. 11 I have told you these things, that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy and gladness may be of full measure and complete and overflowing.” (John 15:10-11). Living in obedience to the Lord and walking in love is the key to abiding in His presence.
I hope we have been encouraged, that in-spite of whatever is happening in the world, we are not subject to it, but we are suppose to thrive, going from glory to glory and His name, been glorified through us. Amen!
From this end, I am praying for you! God bless you! 🙂
