Growing in Faith

“I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favour]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance among all God’s set-apart ones. ” (Acts 20:32)

As born again believers we need to feed and grow on the Word of God. All that we have inherited in Christ is in the Word. There is nothing more important in life than the Word. When you make the Word the highest priority you are positioning yourself to be in the right place at the right time. No matter the resistance or challenges you will always overcome. Mary, the mother of Jesus received favour because of her attitude to the Word. (Luke 1:38). Jesus healed the Sick with the Word. (John 5:8). Lazarus was raised from the dead with the Word. (John 11:42). The Apostles  prevailed every where they went because they preached the Word. (Mark 16:20).

Spending time in the Word opens your spiritual hears to hear from God because God and His Word are one (John 1:1). The Word is the weapon God has provided for us to overcome the devil. And not only that, the Word penetrates deep into the heart to save us from being deceived by our own heart. (Jeremiah 17:9). The Word will expose and cut off unbelief, bitterness, hatred and anything that defiles us, cleansing and purging us from sin. Christ has redeemed us to live a glorious life. The Word of God is the Truth that sets us free.

Prayer Confession: Father, thank you for strengthening me through your Word.  Your Word is Spirit and Life, living and active in me.  As I abide in your Word. I am well nourished. My roots go deep and I’m established, bearing good and abundant fruit in life. The fruit of my womb and the works my hands are blessed because I am a doer of the word.  My heart and mind are stayed on the Word and I’m kept in perfect peace. I shall stand when all else fail because Christ is my rock. My mind is renewed with the Word of God transforming me from glory to glory. Through the knowledge of the Word I am empowered to walk in God’s will making my  way successful in life.   In Jesus Name. Amen!

Reference: "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." (Joshua 1:8).
