Armoured With The Truth (Pt 2)

“And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.” (John 8:32).

Knowledge is power, when you have the knowledge and understanding about how to do something,that knowledge equips you with confidence to get the job done. In other words, you are not like a person groping about in a dark room, knocking yourself against the wall, tripping and falling over objects in your path because you can’t see. But just ‘feeling’ your way through.

In a similar manner, it’s unfortunate that, many Christians are like this in the spirit, ‘full of feelings’, but little or no knowledge in the Word of Truth, the Bible. And because of this, many Christians are harassed, tormented, knocked about and knocked out of their rightful inheritance by Satan. They are being mishandled and enslaved by the lies of the devil because of ignorance.

Even though, the battle has been won many don’t know what is their entitlement. The Bible says it is the truth that we KNOW that will set us free. Jesus is the truth and the opposite of truth is lie. Satan is the father of lies. Jesus told us in John 8:44 that, there is NO truth in him and he is the source of all lies, and everything that comes out of him is lie. And just as the Word of Truth sets free, and gives us access to the glorious life of God . Similarly, the lies of the devil binds people up in darkness, and devil is then able to steal, kill and destroy.(John 10:10).

God is grieved and laments for us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6). God’s heart is weeping for many Christians, because of the afflictions of the devil upon them their lives and family, because they are still sitting down and toiling in the prison camp of Satan, when they can simply get up and walk out in Jesus name!

In spiritual warfare, the belt of truth protects us from the lies of the devil. In this month of August, God promises us a breakthrough in those areas we are struggling with, but we need to walk in revelation of the truth of God’s Word. We need to take up the ‘Armour of Truth’ that God has provided. Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:3, that, the devil will put us into captivity like he did with Adam and Eve in Genesis, if we don’t hold the ‘facts’ and ‘issues’ in our lives against the Word of God so that we can see through Satan’s lies.

The Bible, in John 8:32, admonishes us to continue in the Word of truth. We need to continue to invest time, to read the Bible and have the knowledge of the Truth of what God says about us and our circumstances, because to know God in the knowledge of His truth is to walk in God’s power and strength. This is how we can appropriate the knowledge of truth and continue to walk in Christ strength  and victory.

Prayer Confession: Heavenly Father thank you for giving me the Word of Truth and life. Your promises are yes and amen in Christ. Enlighten the eyes of my understanding to who you have created me to be. Help me to renew my mind to who you say I am and what you say is mine in your Word. Teach me to guard my mind against the lies of the devil. I shall not toil in lack and labour in sickness in the prison camp of Satan, Christ has set me free and I will walk in the covenant blessings of Christ. I am blessed, chosen and anointed for good works. I am a planting of the Lord, a good tree with the fruit of God’s spirit displayed in my life as evidence. And I’m a blessing to my family and on the earth. In Jesus Name. Amen!
