“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world,things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:27-29)
God’s ways are higher than ours. God’s method is contrary to the world’s way of doing things. For example, God says when you are weak, you are strong (2 Corinthians 12:10). When you are poor, you have more than enough ( in Christ, you are an appointed heir of all things created by God – Hebrews 1:2). When you are in need, give sacrificially (1 king 17:9-16). When you are sick and have a negative report from the doctor, you declare you WERE healed by the stripes of Jesus (Isaiah 53:5). When you are hated and persecuted, love in return (Matt 5:43-48.) It does not add up and it makes no sense to our natural mind how God works. But you know what? It pleases God when we are willing to be like a child in our faith and take God at His word. The TRUTH is, no matter what we might be facing, our God is more than ENOUGH!
When fear of lack of any kind, tries to grip our heart, God invites us to grow in our faith and knowledge of Him. And by turning to Him in prayer and His WORD, we discover the power of His provision in our lives!
