Growing in Faith

“But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).” James (1:25)

God says He has made us into kings and priests (Revelation 1:6). Many of us do not see ourselves as kings and priests. We often see ourselves through many different lenses such as, people’s opinion of us, past failures and mistakes, limitations and present circumstances. As such, we develop a low self esteem because of how we think and see ourselves. Subconsciously, we estimate our worth and value based on how we feel.

I once heard a message by a man of God which made a huge impart on me and helped a lot to transition me into a new frame of mind! He said, “There are three projected images of us, first one, how we see ourselves, second, how other people see us and third, how God sees us. But the one that counts is the 3rd,  how God sees us ”

Wow! Did that rock my boat or what…? (….not what people think or EVEN, what I think about me!).  And Is that not what the Bible says  James 1:22 – 25?

Today you may not feel like a king and a priest, But it does not change the FACT, that is who you are! You are bought by the blood of Jesus Christ and adopted into the family of God.

And I encourage you today, don’t accommodate or treat low self-esteem lightly, it’s a Destiny thief! Remember, the first generation of Israelites who left Egypt, reached the edge of Jordan and they could not press further into their destiny because of low self esteem. God saw them as a might nation, they saw themselves as grasshoppers, and because of their low self esteem, they could not press into God’s will for them. Only Joshua and Caleb out of that generation received their inheritance because, they had a good report.

What is it going to take for you to discover who you are?

Understand who God says you are, not other people’s opinion of you or how you feel about yourself, but continue to look into the perfect you – In the MIRROR of the Living Word. The Word of God has the power to change and transform you into who God says you are. Take time out to study the word, meditating, confessing and acting on the word by faith.

“Understanding who you are and what God’s Word says about you is the beginning – it is the launching pad – of every breakthrough for your life” – Joyce Meyer (Amen!)

Praying for you! God bless you!
