Growing in Faith

walking-in-victory-1

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Jesus told us that we can rejoice because He has overcome the world for us. But then, often, when we are confronted by oppositions we somehow subconsciously develop the mind set of fighting the devil for our breakthrough. And as we do this, many times we begin to loose our peace. As a result, we begin to operate more and more from the realm of our emotion. And we begin to make “soulish” decisions. The devil really loves this because he knows this way he can steal our victory.

We cannot fight spiritual battle in our human strength. No amount of fleshly wits or strength  can overpower the smallest demon in Satan’s kingdom. God never told us to fight the devil for our victory, Jesus already fought and won the battle for us. And He has given us the victory! That is why He told us to rejoice in the face of trials, tribulations and  oppositions!

Because Jesus already won the victory for us  we do not need to fight an enemy that is already defeated. What the Bible tells us to do is to resist the devil.

“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.”  (James 4:7-8).

How do we resist the devil? How do we get Satan to flee from us? We resist and enforce the victory of Christ over the devil by submitting to God’s will. We are able to resist the devil – when we choose to humble ourself to God’s word, when we summit to God’s plan instead of our own, when we are confronted with negative report but we choose to believe God’s word instead of the unfavourable situation staring us in the face. When we humble our self in this way before God, we will experience supernatural breakthrough. This is how we walk in Christ victory! This is how we keep the devil under our feet!

Confession of faith:

Greater is He that is in me than the devil that is in the world. I am victorious over failure, disappointment and every opposition. I refuse to fear the devil is under my feet!  I am not moved by negative reports, I choose to believe what the word of God says about my situation. I totally submit to God’s will for my life. No scheme of the devil will prevail over me, In every battle I declare myself victorious. I am more than a conqueror in Jesus name. Amen!

Reflection: "Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you." ( Luke 10:19).

Richest blessings,

Shade.
