The Joy of Asking

Growing in Faith

“Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.” (John 16:24).

Jesus is our Intercessor and Advocate before the Father. He can speak for us because He knows what it is like to going through pain, sickness, failure, rejection and all forms of suffering brought on mankind as a result of sin. (Isaiah 53:5).  The Bible says that,  Jesus is able to bear with the feelings of our infirmity because he himself was tried beyond what any human being could possible endure, yet, He went through it all without sinning, so that we can escape the curse and the consequences sin. (Hebrews 4:15).

God allowed Jesus to go through the cross so that we can experience the abundant life of Jesus Christ. And so, as a child of God, you don’t have to be shy to ask your heavenly Father for what you need today. You can move forward from lack today by asking, you can receive healing in your sick body today by asking, you can remove yourself from disappoint and the pain of your past failures by asking. My dear friend, Jesus is waiting as the perfect High Priest to receive your request and present your needs before the Father in heaven. Ask the Father in the name of Jesus, that your joy can be full.

Prayer Confession:Thank you Father for sending Jesus to die and take my place on the cross so that I can receive your forgiveness. Thank you Jesus that you are my advocate and the High Priest of my confession of faith before the Father in heaven. Lord, I make my request today in Jesus name. I ask for your provision spirit, soul and body. I declare the victory of the cross over sickness and incurable disease, lack, disappointment, failure and every problem afflicting my life. I tread over serpents, scorpions and all the powers of the evil one. No weapon formed against me and my family shall prosper in Jesus name. I bind the spirit of unbelief and by faith, I receive the answer to my prayer with joy in Jesus Name, Amen.

Reflection: When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” (Psalm 126:1-2).
