“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” (John 3:16)
It needs not be said again, we know this is that special season of giving gifts and merrymaking. The atmosphere of Christmas is exciting to many! Shimmering lights dazzling our streets, sparkling decorations of all kinds hanging on our doors, ceilings and walls, specially crafted cards and the best gift possible for our loved ones. There is no telling the extent many of us do go in capturing and celebrating the joy of Christmas.
And there is nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas, I’m all for it as long as the motive is in tune with the reason for the season – Jesus Christ. In my personal opinion, there is every reason to rejoice and celebrate the precious gift and favour of God to us, Emmanuel – God, dwelling with us!
Now then, what about us? What is the best gift you can give the Lord? What is the best impression we can give that Heaven will take notice of? Remember, Heaven is full of Glories and inexpressible Beauty. The most spectacular shimmering lights and Christmas decorations, the best Christmas turkey and presents cannot compare in the least possible sense to the riches and majesty of the Heavens why God resides.
Yet, there is one thing you can do that will cause Heaven to give a standing ovation – A Soul Saved. Ah, yes,you will get Heaven’s full attention when you go out of your way to reach out to a Soul without Jesus Christ this Christmas.
“Thus, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one [especially] wicked person who repents (changes his mind, abhorring his errors and misdeeds, and determines to enter upon a better course of life) than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance.” (Luke 15:7)
Every time a soul gets saved, Heaven throws a party, the prize of a Soul has no equal in the eyes of the Lord. The joy in Heaven has no limit, when a lost Soul turns to the Lord, the rejoicing is unending – It is for Eternity. (Take a moment and reflect on that!)
There is no gift as priceless, costly, and extravagant as the gift of God’s Son – Jesus, from the Father to us and there is no gift as priceless, costly and extravagant as the gift of a lost Soul turning to the Lord! The greatest gift we can all give to the Lord this Christmas is to go out of our ways, as inconveniencing as it might be, and reach out with the love of God to a lost Soul.
And perhaps, you are reading this and you do not know Jesus Christ. I’m glad to let you know that, you are the reason God gave His Son as gift to the world so that, you might receive God’s forgiveness and be reconcile to Him here on earth and in heaven after death. If you want to receive the gift of God’s Son – Jesus Christ, please say this prayer:
“Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die for my sins so that I can be saved. Forgive me of all my sins, I turn from sin and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I welcome your Holy Spirit into my life to teach and guide me everyday how to live for Jesus Christ. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.”
