“And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.” Galatians 6:9
In this post I will pick up from where I stopped the last time. I shared that there are primary two reasons why we often miss out on God’s plan for our lives. In my last post I said the first one is Doubt and that it opens the door for the enemy to intimidate us with to fear. In this will post, I will continue with the second reason.
As I said before from my understanding, I believe the second reason is that we are often not willing for one reason or the other to Dig our heels in and be committed to STAND until we receive the answer from God.
First and foremost, it is clear from the scriptures that the WORD of God is the foundation and agent for bringing about change. For example, in the beginning, the earth was void and filled with darkness, until the word of God came into the scene there was no change. (Genesis 1 ). Equally important to note is that, the Word of God is also a SEED. Every promise of God in the bible is a seed.
Jesus made this fact clear to us in the parable of the sower in Mark 4. He used the parable to teach us about how the Kingdom of God operates. Jesus said “ …if you understanding this parable you will understanding all the other parables.” Mark 4:13
That is, it’s the key for unlocking heavenly blessings and manifesting it in the physical realm. Indirectly He was saying, if you want what God has promised you in His word you need to develop the mindset of a farmer. You need to understand how to apply the law of sowing and reaping.
We are already very familiar to this concept, first, a farmer knows it will be ridiculous of him to expect to reap a harvest if he has no seed in the ground. And second, a farmer knows it will be unreasonable to expect to plant seed in the soil today and expect the harvest tomorrow. It just doesn’t work that way.
Also, when A farmer puts the seed in the ground, he doesn’t go digging out the seed just to make sure the seed is still there,he has no DOUBT about that, even though he can’t see a sign of anything, he knows there is going to be a harvest. He trust the law of nature to do it’s part after he has done his part. So, he automatically begins to look out for the harvest or crop. He EXPECTS IT! What gives him the CONFIDENCE to expect what he can’t see with his physical eyes? It is because the farmer understands that the principles of sowing and the law of nature work together to produce the harvest he desires.
So what does the farmer do during the waiting time? That is when he begins to prepare to receive the harvest. After he has put the seed in the soil, he does ALL that he knows to do, he waters the ground, he removes the weeds and everything and anything that will hinder or choke the crop he gets out of the way. Even though, HOW the seed germinates in the ground is beyond the farmer but he trust and allows the law of nature to kick into effect, and at the right time or the DUE SEASON the seed sprouts and produces the harvest he is expecting!
“The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own…..”.Mark 4:26
In effect this how the kingdom of God works. Seed time and harvest time. Just like the farmer sows and he goes about his normal daily business, and thereafter, at the right season the seed brings about a change which can be seen physically.
Jesus explained the parable later to the disciples that The seed is the word of God and the different grounds or soils represent the state of our heart
The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message, only to have Satan come at once and take it away.
The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.
The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.
And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!
Standing strong!
The parable of the sower goes hand in hand with not been weary in well doing. The devil wears us out with worry and anxiety, he chokes us with intimidation and fear until we become so worn out and we allow the devil to STEAL that seed from our heart. The devil is after the seed, he knows that without a seed you can’t have a harvest. Therefore, if he can steal the seed he can steal your harvest.
But Let us hold on tight to the confession of our faith……let us hold on to the word of God with patient and commitment to dig our heels in and stand strong in Jesus name! We will definitely reap in Due Season!
Prayer for you..
Father, I pray for my friend reading this, that they will not give up on your promise, but will hold on to your word by faith. May you grant them your grace to stand strong not in their strength but cloth with your strengthen. Holy Spirit reveal to them what they need to do in this waiting season to receive their breakthrough. I ask in Jesus name. Amen!
