Growing in Faith

24 Jun

“With this hope you can be happy even if you need to have sorrow and all kinds of tests for awhile.7 These tests have come to prove your faith and to show that it is good. Gold, which can be destroyed, is tested by fire. Your faith is worth much more than gold and it must be tested also. Then your faith will bring thanks and shining-greatness and honor to Jesus Christ when He comes again.” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

There is nothing that happens to us that is unexpected to God, whether small or big. Before we experience a major change in life  there is usually a trial to test our faith, to see whether we are ready to mount up into the next level of increase God has for us.  Unfortunately we often get stuck in the now, being caught between a rock and a hard place is not fun. It can be emotionally painful and at the same time frightening. But somehow if we can see things through God’s telescope we will realize and take comfort in knowing that everything we are going through is part of the progress we need to make to reach our desired destination.

Trials develop godly character in us. God uses trials to mould and shape us into becoming who He has called us to be. The  natural reaction is to be more interested in  the destination or promotion we want, but God is not just interested in us occupying the position, but He also wants  Christ glorified in us. God wants you and I to be blessed beyond what we can think or imagine. The Lord wants to take us beyond being blessed and He wants to make us into a blessing  everywhere we go.  (Genesis 12:2-3). God’s ultimate purpose is that we grow into the statute of  Christ. In fact this is the goal of our Christian calling.

Be encouraged today, that God is working behind the scenes. Don’t relate to how difficult it is anymore but begin to demonstrate your faith for where God is taken you. God rewards our faith. (Hebrews 11:6). Begin to thank God that all things are working together for good. Guide your mind and mouth in the direction of God’s will for your life. As you begin to count your blessings and appreciate God for what you have, instead of complaining about what you want God to do for you, the Lord will begin to favor your life and lift you up. He will go before you to make the rough places smooth and exalt His name in your life.  Beloved, you’ve got the victory in Jesus Name!

Prayer Confession: Heavenly Father thank you that I can come into your courts with praise and thanksgiving. Your joy is my strength. The Holy Spirit is at work in my life. All things are working for good. I maintain a joyful attitude for I walk by faith and not by sight. My hope is in Christ my foundation is founded on the Truth of the Word. I’m gaining supernatural strength and speed daily. I will fulfill my destiny. God is on my side shutting wrong doors and opening right doors for me to move forward. Thank you Lord for bringing me into abundant peace, provision and divine health. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection: “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for Me?" (Jeremiah 32:27).

“God wants us to move from being ‘blessed’ to being a ‘blessing'” Very insightful. I am using this as a quote on my blog right away. God bless you Ma.
