Keep Your Focus On Jesus

Growing in Faith

16 Jan

“Then Peter called to him: “Sir, if it is really you, tell me to come over to you, walking on the water.” 29 “All right,” the Lord said,“come along!” So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he looked around at the high waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Instantly Jesus reached out his hand and rescued him. “O man of little faith,”Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”  (Matthew 14:28-31)

Peter stepped out on the WORD of Jesus, “Come” and he was doing perfectly fine. But, immediately Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. Now think about this, what has the storm got to do with walking on water? Even with a perfect weather, human beings can’t walk on the water! Water walking is SUPERNATURAL, and so is Faith. Faith is a supernatural gift from God!

This is often how it is when you decide to step out by faith on the Word of God and do something you believe God wants you to do. The devil will try to distract your focus from the WORD  by sending ‘storms’ – different forms of distractions such as sickness, family problem, financial crisis and anything to get you off track, to get you to start making  negative confessions, and after that doubt sets in, next thing, you give up and quit.

Well, DON’T! …I’m here to encourage you today to keep your focus on Jesus. Keep renewing your mind with God’s promises consigning that problem and keep confessing that word over the problem. Also very important, keep thanking  God by faith for your breakthrough. And take a step of faith! Do what  is possible for you to do  in the natural and leave the impossible part for God to do for you.  My friend, this is what, “Water Walking Faith” is about.

“Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. ” (Hebrews 11:1)

I’m praying for you. God bless you!

Oh how we, in this day, need to step out in faith and keep our eyes on Jesus! If we do not again become the salt of the earth, our nation is doomed. http://spurgeonwarquotes.wordpress.com/

Thanks my sister for sharing. Really, no matter the trials, we should focus on Jesus Christ because He is the only way, only light and only truth. Remain bless.

Love this! God’s been teaching me (in more ways than one) this year how important it is to always keep my mind full of His promises and my eyes focused on Him. Distraction and doubt is one of the enemies greatest tools to make us forget who we have with us but when we are always thinking about Jesus there’s no room left in our mind for the lies and distractions of the enemy. Great post!
