God Is Doing A New Thing

Growing in Faith

16 Jan

Let Go of The Past

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

Maybe you have come through a very difficult year and you are wandering how you can face this new year. Let me encourage your heart with this word, ‘Let go of painful feelings and the past’.

From personal experience, I know how difficult it can be to embrace a new thing without letting go of past hurts and disappointments. Holding on to the feelings of the past wreckage will not allow you to move forward with God, even when you can see clearly that God has a new and better plan laid up before you.

If you want to witness the supernatural power of God in your life this year, don’t focus on any past discouragement and defeat.   Don’t let the frustration of past struggles cripple you anymore. Let go of any devastating thing that occurred in the past, surrender it to the Lord so that you can move forward with God into a new season of healing, restoration and renewal.

Remove the Limits

God is great and the Lord over all things and all the people. He can calm any raging storm, He can bring river in the middle of the desert. God can do all things, but unbelief can limit the power of God.  Look at Mark chapter six,

“And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in His hometown and among His relatives and in His own household.” And He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marvelled because of their unbelief. (Mark 6:4-6)

Because of their unbelief, even Jesus with all His power and authority ‘could not’ do miracles! Jesus was ready and willing but because of their unbelief they effectively stopped the power of God from releasing the blessings God so desire to freely give them. Unbelief is lack of trust in God and it is a spiritual force. It is a force that is opposite to faith and seeks to extinguish our faith in God.  Unbelief tops the list of what can stop the power of God from moving in your life.

Ask in Faith

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.” (James 1:6-7)

As believers, God has promised us the inheritance of Jesus Christ. All that the Father has belong to Jesus.  And we, believers are heirs of Christ, so effectively all that God has belong to us through Christ. (John 1:12; 2 Corinthians 1:20).  In the name of Jesus, we have the right to every promise of peace, protection, provision, family salvation, victory and every blessing God has promised in the Bible. But all the promises of God must be obtained by faith.

“So, the promise is received by faith. It is given as a free gift. And we are all certain to receive it, whether or not we live according to the law of Moses, if we have faith like Abraham’s. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.” (Romans 4:16).  Abraham’s faith in God was tested but he did not weaver in his faith. He continued to trust God and God fulfilled His promise, (Romans 4:20). Sarah gave birth to the promised child, Isaac, at God’s appointed time.

Abraham’s faith is an example for us, his obedience to believe God and trust Him to bring to pass His promise made Abraham the father of our faith. Let us not waver in our faith but trust God to fulfill His word.

Can you see a new vision for your life?

What is limiting you from seeing yourself as God sees you?
