Seeing the Goodness of God in EverSeason
Are you focusing on the problem, or can you see what the goodness of God can do?
Worry often fuels our imagination in the wrong direction, pulling us into fear instead of faith. But when we shift our mindset toward gratitude, everything changes. It lifts our eyes from the struggle to the God who walks with us through every circumstance.
The Trap of a Negative Mindset
Negative thinking is subtle but powerful. It can disconnect our hearts from God’s truth and leave us feeling discouraged, anxious, and overwhelmed.
But God never intended for us to live trapped in fear. He invites us to cultivate a mindset of gratitude—one that reminds us of His goodness and the benefits we have already received from His hand.
Scripture teaches:
“Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” — Psalm 50:23
“Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness… For He satisfies the longing soul and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” — Psalm 107:8–9
Gratitude positions us to see God’s faithfulness even when life feels heavy.
God’s Presence in Our Struggles
Nobody enjoys facing trials. Yet again and again, the Bible assures us that God is near and actively working on our behalf.
“The LORD helps and delivers them… because they take refuge in Him.” — Psalm 37:40
“He will rescue you from six calamities; no harm will touch you in seven.” — Job 5:19
No difficulty is greater than God’s grace. When life presses hard, God is not distant—He is our refuge, our strength, and our deliverer.
Perfect Peace Comes from Trust
Peace doesn’t come from easy circumstances—it comes from trusting the One who governs them.
“You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You.” — Isaiah 26:3
A grateful heart reinforces trust. When we thank God even before the breakthrough, we anchor our minds in His promises rather than our fears. And that trust ushers in supernatural peace.
Remembering God’s Faithfulness Strengthens Faith
Being thankful during hardship does not come naturally. But one of the strongest ways to build gratitude is by intentionally remembering how God has helped us in the past.
Replaying those moments—when God turned hopeless situations around—reminds us that the same God who rescued before will rescue again.
It is often in seasons of pressure that we discover our true identity in Christ. Our faith is stretched, but through that stretching we learn that we are not defined by the battle—we are defined by the God who fights for us.
No Season Is Permanent
Whatever you may be facing today, remind yourself: this is not the end of the story.
God changes times and seasons. His goodness and mercy surround you—even when you don’t feel it.
When we choose gratitude, we invest in our spiritual future. Offering God a sacrifice of praise is a declaration of trust in His ability to work all things together for good.
A Final Encouragement
You may not feel thankful today, and that’s okay. Feelings change—but God does not.
Take a moment to reflect on His past blessings, His unfailing mercy, and His unchanging promises. As you trust Him with all your heart, He will guide your steps and lead you into His goodness.
Choose today to see beyond the problem and focus on the God who is greater than every giant. His goodness surrounds you, His plans are for you, and His faithfulness will carry you through.
A Prayer to See the Goodness of God in Every Season
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a heart that longs for Your peace and Your presence. You know every burden I carry and every thought that tries to steal my joy. Lord, shift my focus from the problems around me to the goodness that flows from Your hand.
Teach me to recognize when negativity tries to settle in my mind. Break every pattern of fear, discouragement, and anxiety that attempts to disconnect me from Your truth. Help me replace every anxious thought with a song of gratitude. Remind me that praise is not based on how I feel, but on who You are—faithful, loving, and always near.
Lord, You have delivered me before, and You will deliver me again.
Just as Your Word declares, “The LORD helps and delivers those who take refuge in Him,” I take refuge in You today. Strengthen my trust when circumstances feel overwhelming. Surround me with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and keep my mind steadfast as I fix my eyes on You.
When I struggle to be thankful, help me remember Your past faithfulness. Bring to mind every time You opened a door, answered a prayer, provided unexpectedly, or brought hope into a hopeless situation. Let these memories build my faith for what You are still doing—even when I cannot yet see it.
Father, remind me that no season is permanent.
You are the One who changes times and seasons, who turns mourning into dancing, and who works all things together for good. Help me surrender my worries, my plans, and my timing to You. Fill my heart with a spirit of gratitude that anchors me in Your promises.
Surround me with Your goodness and mercy today. Lead me step by step, and guide me into the future You have prepared for me. I choose to trust You. I choose to praise You. And I choose to believe that Your goodness is greater than any giant I may face.
Thank You, Lord, for Your constant love, unchanging character, and endless grace.
May my life be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
