The LORD Will Fight for You!

“He always stands by his covenant; the commitment he made to a thousand generations.” (Psalm 105:8).

As  believers we will face challenges and battles in life. But if you  have an understanding of your covenant position with God, you will not allow Satan access to your peace, because God has pledged to fight your battles. The Bible says, “Those who know their God will be strong, and carry out great exploits.” (Daniel 11:32). Israel as a Nation enjoyed great exploits over their adversaries because they relied on their covenant relationship with God.

One of such victories is the confrontation between David and Goliath. (1 Samuel  17). In the situation Israel was already outnumbered just by the size of Goliath alone. Of course Israel didn’t win the battle based on size, but because God keeps covenant. Notice that in this confrontation between Israel and the Philistines, not one person in the camp of Israel mentioned their covenant with God. David was the only one who reminded them of their position of strength. (1 Samuel 17:26).

When David challenged Goliath his confidence was not in the size of his physical built or strength. Not even in any sophisticated physical weapon or protection. His confidence was the promise of Jehovah. When David brought the Word of the Lord on the scene, the atmosphere changed from that very moment. And you know the rest of the story. David a Covenant minded boy brought the victory for his Nation.

May be you feel like the “weakest link” in the midst of your challenges today. Know that God has not planned any defeat for you. God wants you to place your confidence in Him. If you believe, God will give you whatever you need to win the battle. What He did for David, He will do for you too. Only Believe!

Prayer Confession:Prayer Confession: Thank you Father for the victory of Calvary. Jesus you are the captain of my life. I will not fear. The Holy Spirit lives in me and  He His fighting all my battles. No weapon formed against me and my family shall prosper. By strength shall no man prevail but in Christ I can do all things. My heart is fortified with the Word of God. I am more than a conqueror as I walk by faith and not by sight. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection: “Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.” (Mark 11:23).
