It was never in God’s plan for anybody to experience pain, sickness or death. We were never meant to experience suffering of any kind. The Bible tells us that when God created the world, it was very good. (Genesis 1:13). In the same way, when God created Adam and Eve and placed them in the garden of Eden they were perfect. They had no evil imaginations or desires in them. Their spirit man was pure and perfectly United with God. They lacked nothing. It was a completely beautiful relationship with God.
Sin and Death Entered The World
But the day they ate from the forbidden tree, life turned sour. That was the day they experienced spiritual death. They were separated from God, their close communion with the presence of God was broken. They became naked, exposed to the damaging consequences of Sin, “The Curse”. (Genesis Chapter 3)
Mankind had fallen into sinfulness, and from there on, they began to live according to the dictates of their carnal mind, the sinful nature. Sin opened the door for Satan to rule over Mankind and for the curse to come upon the entire Human Race.
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12).
The Providence of God, The Provision Preceded The Need
However, long before Adam and Eve fell into sin, God knew it. His Divine providence made the provision ready before the need presented itself. The plan of redemption was worked out before the Universe or Adam came into existence. (Revelation 13:8). And so, God’s redemption plan was going to deal Satan a fatal blow that will crush him. The offering of the woman, that Satan tempted into sin, was going be God’s armour for crushing Satan’s head, stripping away his authority to the keys of death and hell. Stripping him bare, rendering him powerless! (Genesis 3:15; Revelation 1:18).
Death Through Adam, Life Through Jesus Christ
The Bible says,“The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8). Jesus came to reverse the curse and restore us into right standing relationship God. (Romans 5:19). “He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5).
How He Loves Us
Jesus the Eternal Son, as always existed with the Eternal Father, God, from the beginning and equal to God in divinity but in other to save mankind, emptied Himself of all His divine attributes and took on the nature of Mankind. He became flesh and blood like us so as to offer up His sinless life as a sacrifice on the cross to deliver those who believe in Him from Eternal judgement. (Philippians 2:6-8).
All Can Come To The Father Through The Cross Of Jesus
Jesus tells us,, “I Am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14 :6). God has provided the path to peace, healing and restoration through the Cross. There is a wonderful hope in this life and after death for those put their trust in Jesus Christ.
How is your relationship with Jesus? Knowing about Jesus is not the same thing as having a relationship with Him. To have a relationship with Jesus means, to have a personal awareness of Him as the Saviour, and having the knowledge of His Word and power in our life. (John 14:23).
Being a Christian is not about attending Church services but knowing Jesus personally for yourself. Spending time with Him, talking regularly with Him. Finding out His plan for your life, and doing His will. Is this the relationship you have with Jesus?
Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20). The Lord loves you and wants to have a true living relationship with you. He wants to save you and transform your life for His glory. If this is what you want, the opportunity is available now. It starts with a simple prayer.
To invite Jesus Christ into your life, please say this prayer out loud.
Jesus, I am a sinner but I believe you died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of all my sins. I turn my back on sin, I welcome you into my heart. I Confess, Jesus is the Lord and Savior my life. From this moment forward I place my trust in Jesus. I am a child of God. I am deeply loved and highly favoured. I have a new life and a new beginning. In Jesus name, Amen.
