Growing in Faith

“[For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).” (Ephesians 1:17-18).

God has the ‘blue print’ of every life, the Bible says, before we were conceived in the womb He saw us. (Jeremiah 1:5). He knew every intricate detail about you before ever forming you in your mama’s womb. And He designed a good destiny for you as well. (Jeremiah 29:11). Then, wouldn’t it be great if every thing can just flow smooth and easy as God intended it to be. But unfortunately, we have an adversary on this side of heaven, things happen to us in life that we become mired, because of the consequences of sin through Adam and Eve.

Even as Born Again believers, most times these unfortunate events in life can give us a totally wrong view of us, and how we see ourselves compared to how God sees, and His plans for us. As children of the most high God, we must rightfully take our places as His sons and daughters. Β Paul’s prayer in Ephesians is a good pray model for us to pray for having revelation and walking in God’s wisdom. We need revelation of who we are in Christ. In some areas many of us are doing great, we have come to growth and maturity and the devil can’t pull the blinder over us any more, but in other areas, we need to press in for what belongs to us.

For example Peter couldn’t walk in his assignment until God gave him the revelation of Christ. (Matthew 16:16-17). It was after Peter got the revelation of Jesus Christ has the Messiah that God brought him into his destiny. (Matthew 16:18-19). Revelation is power, revelation will uncover the lies of the enemy and reveal the Truth. Maybe there are areas in your life today that things are not working as they should. I will encourage you to take some quality time in meditating on Ephesians 1:17-18 (if possible spend time studying the Book of Ephesians), asking the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of Christ in that SPECIFIC area you’re having problems with. God wants to break through into your spirit with a clear revelation of His power for you so that you can take what belongs to you from the devil!

Prayer Confession: Heavenly Father thank you for your wonderful plans for my life. I am fearfully and wonderfully created to bring you glory. I am a peculiar person, a chosen generation and royal priesthood in Christ. Lord I repent from wilful sins and disobedience that have opened the door for the enemy to work in my life. I ask for your forgiveness. Holy Spirit wash me with the blood of Jesus and open the eyes of my understanding to the hope of my calling in Christ. Give me the courage to rise up and be who you have created me to be. Thank you for the blood of the everlasting covenant that speaks for me and gives me access to my inheritance in Christ as a family and covenant child of God. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection:"In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. 11 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil." (Eph 6:10-11).

Hi Shade! You have no idea how much I needed to hear these words today. Sometimes I just wonder what the heck I’m doing, and today is one of those days. God works in the best way possible, and if he is not telling me right now, I must wait for his revelation. It will come. I guess I need to have the patience of Peter.

I pray that God will give me the courage to stand up and do the best I can.
    Always great to be here,
    Ceil

We live in a world that treats us as a number. Or a “unit” that buys a certain way. It’s so pervasive, that it’s easy to think that everyone — most notably God — agrees. So good to realize that He knew us before he formed us in our mother’s womb — a place that He considers sacred although mankind does not — and that He has prepared us in advance to do good works. I don’t think we can remind ourselves of that too much!

Hi Carolyn! it’s so sad to see the perversion of the day we’re living in. May the Lord awaken us and pour out His Spirit on our generation.

Thank God we are not made with cookie cutters..lol. It’s wonderful that each of us is unique, wonderful and prepared for good work. No, we can never thank God enough even if we try for eternity. Thanks for your visit today! Have a wonderful weekend πŸ™‚

I love this! Such an important message to embrace. God’s truth over the world’s lies. Which will we believe? The answer to that question determines where we go, what we do, and how we live. Thanks Shade!
