Growing in Faith

14 Jun

edge of business risk

“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

In the book of Luke chapter 4 Jesus went to the synagogue and was handed the scroll, He found where it was written of Him by prophet Isaiah and boldly claimed it, declaring before every hostile eye He was the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy; the long awaited Messiah (Isaiah 61). They were filled with wrath! They attacked and chased Him intending to kill Him there and then!  You see, they were expecting a highly acclaimed conquering Messiah but Jesus came in the form of a suffering servant. They could not accept His weakness; it was an offence to them. And even today, the name of Jesus is still an offence to many. The name of Jesus is been removed from schools, public places and even in some Christian circles!

However the fact of the matter is that, God can do all things. He does not depend on public opinion to fulfill His promises to you and me. The Lord brought His Word to pass in Jesus life and He can do it in your life too. No matter what the ‘Nay Sayers’ say. Be encouraged today,  no matter how weak and vulnerable you look before your circumstances, even though it may looks to you as if you are standing on a thin edge,  Don’t turn and run! Don’t hide away and Don’t embrace pity party either! Rather, like Jesus, stand firm on the Word of the living God because as you do, the Lord’s grace and strength will come upon your life and give you the victory. Beloved, you are more than a conqueror in Jesus Name!

Prayer Confession: Dear Father, thank you for the wonderful works of your grace in my life. Your grace is sufficient for me to be victorious against all oppositions confronting me and my family. I’m so glad that your strength is perfect in my weaknesses. I receive your strength in my finances, health and every area I am weak and vulnerable. The life of God is in me; the power of God is working in me causing me to overcome. Greater is He that is in me than the devil in the world. I declare in Jesus name that the storm of life will not sweep me over because the Lord is my strong tower and refuge. Greater is the Christ in me than the devil that is in the world.  I walk in perfect strength and victory always the Word of God is my hope and anchor. Thank you Lord for making be a witness of your love and grace to the world. In Jesus Name. Amen!

Reflection:  “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
