Growing in Faith

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”  (Joshua 1:8)

The Lord told joshua as the new leader of Israel, in order for him to successfully lead the Jewish nation into the long awaited promised land, he has to hold fast to the Word of God and use it as the ‘Road Map’ to victory.  Meditating on the on the word day and night. Meaning, total dedication to the Word of God and a disciplined focus. Joshua was to use his time wisely, not  wasting  time and energy focusing on wrong thoughts, such as his weaknesses, the past mistakes, what is not working, how difficult it looks, why it is impossible to do it, how many people already failed at it and all the negative stuffs the devil throws around all day long.

Though the situation looked impossible for Israel, but as far as God was concerned, their  victory was already settled. Joshua’s part was to strengthen his faith by meditating on the promises of God in order to press forward into victory, because as a man thinks he will become. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7)

Really, this is how it is with every one of us and God’s promises for us . God is more than able to fulfill what he has promised us in His Word. But we have the responsibility of guarding His promises for our life with utmost diligence,  mediating and confessing the Word round the clock.  So my friend, if I may bring a word of encouragement to you today, I will say, please be watchful! Don’t allow negative focus or wrong thinking to steal your blessings, because our lives will go in the direction of our thought pattern. Be diligent in ordering your thoughts and confessions to line up with what God says about your situation in the Scriptures. Don’t focus anymore on the bigness of your problem rather, tell your problem how big your God is! Hallelujah!

Prayer Confession: The word of God is the formula for my life and success.  I cancel every negative word spoken over me with the Blood of Jesus. They have no more power over my life from this day.  I disconnect from  past cycles of failures defeat and shame. By faith I connect to my divine purpose. Like Joshua I receive the grace to function in my divine destiny, I will no longer waste my life going around in aimless cycles.  I declare by faith the season for possessing the land of my promise is now by the power of the Holy Spirit. I am transformed from the inside out. My life is supernatural, constantly making uncommon progress and advancing the kingdom of God every where i go. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Reflection:"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. (Proverbs 4:23-24)

What a lovely post. Always words of wisdom. Too many times we allow distractions in life to keep us out of the Word when it is His Word that we need to overcome the distractions. Peace to you! Lilka
