Passing The Test of Offence

Growing in Faith

17 Apr

graduation-2

“Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you ever read what the Scriptures say? ‘The stone which the builders rejected as worthless turned out to be the most important of all. This was done by the Lord; what a wonderful sight it is!'” (Matthew 21:42).

The Bait of Offence
How do you handle rejection? How do you deal with the hurt and bitter thoughts that come from rejection. How we deal with rejection reveals how much of “self” is still alive in us. Think about this; it is absolutely impossible to hurt a dead man, no matter how much you try.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God who created the universe and earth, wrapped in humanity, perfect in every way when He walked on earth, He went about doing good yet,  He faced the worst rejection and abuse any one ever experienced or will ever experience. How did He handle it? How was He able to bear it?  Well… The Bible shows us how….It was PRAYER.

“….And Jesus prayed, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34).

The Battle is Won!
…And He passed the Test! Hallelujah!! And God exalted Him to the highest place of honor in the Heavens and on Earth! (Philippians 2:9-10)

If we don’t forgive others, we will disqualify our self from receiving God’s forgiveness and His plans for us. (Matthew 6:12). Offence is a dangerous hook for the devil to use against us, luring us away into darkness and destruction. Also, offence will pollute the River of Life in our belly, (John 7:38); Turning it from Sweetness to Bitter Water, turning it from Life to Death. God wants us to minister Life. If you can pass the rejection test, you are ready for your next promotion in God, because it is the greatest demonstration of spiritual maturity.

Prayer Confession:
Father forgive me for holding bitterness in my heart against anyone who has hurt me. Lord heal my heart and set me free from every hurt and pain of rejection. Satan I refuse to carry your stinking rubbish of bitterness and unforgiveness any longer! Jesus is my example and I will walk in Love! I have overpowered the devil and spiritual darkness in Jesus name, my path is bright and my future is secured. I am like a tree planted by the river, my life shall not be barren but will produce abundant harvest. I walk in strength, health and victory in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Reflection: "But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike." (Matthew 5:43-45).

This is the correct route yet most difficult one to follow. May God help us. vw
