Growing in Faith· Prayer

prayer-8

“For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].” (Mark 11:24)

You cannot plant an apple seed and expect orange in return. Applying this principle to our spiritual life, especially in prayer, most of us pray for solution but in our thinking we are expecting trouble. Yet the Bible tells us to believe and trust God to answer our prayer.

Many times subconsciously we approach prayer as a religious ritual, not expecting God to answer us. Prayer is not about physical posture, or quoting Bible verses or even how loud we can pray. But do we believe in our prayer?

“A concentrated mind and a sitting body make for better prayer than a kneeling body and a mind half asleep” – C.S. Lewis.

When we are praying in-line with God’s will nothing can stop us! But, we can stop us, if we don’t have faith in our prayer. Faith is now!

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1).
Meaning, you must believe you receive the answer when you pray!

Let us pray, please make this declaration with me:

“I reject doubt and unbelief.
I am liberated from destruction and confusion.
The Holy Spirit is in me, He is teaching, and enlightening the eyes of my understanding in agreement with God’s Word and will for my life.
Every trap and demonic forces hindering my progress and breakthrough I expel you from my life in Jesus name!
I believe God for the answer and solution to my request. And I fully expect the Lord to be good to me and show me His salvation.
By faith, I thank God for answered prayer in Jesus name. Amen!”

Reflection:
"Prayer lays hold of God's plan and becomes a link between His will and it's accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer" – Elisabeth Elliot.

God bless you:)

James 5:16 is a beautiful verse, and amplified by the next two verses: “Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again, he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced the crops.” I think, “Wow. Elijah was like ME?” and I also see the “earnestly” part — the hardest part about prayer, and faith in its answering, is the time it takes sometime from the asking to the answering . . . You provide encouragement and hope with your post. Thank you.

So true, the “earnesty” part do require us to persevere. I pray we will not be weary in our expectation in the Lord. Thank you for sharing your lovely insight. God Bless you!
